You know, I have read and reread so many reviews not only on how bad her serials are, but how bad she herself is. the truth is, this lady is a brainy and powerful. it’s very hypocritical for people( a lot of people) to criticize, make fun of, and verbally abuse her shows, yet turn around and watch them still. i’ve heard so many people put her shows down, yet they want to know what will happen next, com one dude! stick to one choice, you either like it or not!
frankly, I think this lady’s success is very well deserved, and even at a very young age too. in fact she was on the list for 50 most powerful entreprenuers in some Asian magazine and got countless awards for being the youngest achiever. this is evident how she is well known and liked internationally.
as far as her soaps are concerned she keeps the typical indian mentality and society in mind while making them. by that I mean the indian society’s prime focus(yes you have GOT to admit to this one) is MARRIAGE, MARRIAGE, AND MARRIAGE! that’s generally the main concern and focus for this country, overall. that’s why her shows focus on this subject too.
india is the only country with joint families full of almost fifty people living in one house. that’s exactly what she shows. her serials are a reflection of the indian society which is why people identify with it. so she’s not making anybody fools, maybe people foolish to begin with in the first place!
so someone please tell me, if her subject(considering the primary audience) should shift from saas bahu stuff to something else, what should it be? her serials show people having extra marital affairs, pre marital pregnancies, etc. but she doesnt show them in a cheap and vulgar way, a la american soaps. she shows two mature and level head individuals/couples talk their problems over, and if there are extra affairs, she doesn’t show them actually’doing stuff’ but instead the focus is on mature adults who are unhappy. now please dont nobody tell me indian society does not have extra martial affairs because that is very hypocritical. if they didnt, I wonder how you could the explain the population then! these things happen in everyday lives so nobody should be surprised at it.
another focus for her are that she makes them women oriented, which I think is very good. till sometime back, a typical indian woman really was considered to stay home and just warm up the bed, the kitchen, and take care of kids. but its’ really amazing how she shows strong minded and outspoken women who can balance marriage, kids, home, as well as their business, yet look extremely authentic and traditonal.
so please, if you dont like her shows, switch the channel, turn the tv off and dont watch it ever again. because you know deep down you still have an’itch’ to know what’s gonna happen next! so please leave powerful and succesful lady alone and get over your jealousy!
