About the author

Agatha Christie, the Queen of Crime, as she is popularly known as, has written over 79 novels and short stories. Her detective and inquisitive character Hercule Poirot became the source of inspiration for the creation of ’Sherlok Holmes’. Agatha, is outsold only by the Bible and Shakespeare and is easily the most successful writers of our times. Her mysterious, adventurous and detective novels still continue to entertain people around the globe in the form of books and screen adaptions et cetra et cetra. Truely a legendary wirter....

The Seven Dials Mystery:

Although this novel might not be her greatest work, but to begin reading Agatha, The Seven Dials Mystery is surely a simpler, shorter and yet mysterious thriller. The story begins with a group of some people planning to play a prank, but unfortunately the joke turns out into a murder. However at the ’place’ of murder there are left the Seven Dials of alarm clocks, with one missing. The brave Miss Battle takes upon herself to solve this mystery only to find that ’The Seven Dials’ is a name of a secret society. Now her job is to seek help of several other characters of the book and try and decipher what are the motives of this secret society. Moreover also to find out which side the Seven Dials are.....hers or....?

The book is shorter with events taking place one after the other, that keeps the needle of suspicion pointing on literally every charcarter. Many of the starters would cherish reading this book but a word of caution here, if you have already read some more action packed and ’deep’ novels, then this one isn’t for you. And no points can be taken away from the author because the book was written in 1929. So I hope I am able to generate enough interest here........!

Anyways Agatha’s style of writing is the hallmark of this book. Although the plot and the story are simpler, the Agatha Style is what makes it more readable. Like any good detective book The Seven Dials Mystery has a lot of characaters that keeps us fathoming who might be the ’real’ killer. It is of around 300 pages long and makes for some fun and enjoyable reading. If you aren’t acquainted with the detective world yet, I would recommend you to begin with Agatha Christie. I have read only this one particular book by Agatha and I am sure I am excited enough to collect the entire Agatha Christie creations. So I m gonna bore you guys with a lot of reviews.......ha ha ha ha

Happy Reading and a very Happy New Year to all!
