What’s wrong with people here at MS? I agree Shaadi No.1 is not a classic by any means but it entertains and how!With 13% recommendation I walked into the film with some apprehensions but it took me by surprise.
Raj, Veer and Aryan (Fardeen Khan, Zayed Khan and Sharman Joshi) experience identical happenings and each seem to have the same problem - they all are fed up with their wives (Ayesha Takia, Esha Deol and Soha Ali Khan). Three temptresses provide distractions (Yep, three again... one for each of the boys... how convenient!) and they are Rekha (Aarti Chhabria), Madhuri (Riya Sen) and Dimple (Sophiya Chaudhary). Lucky bhaiya (Sanjay Dutt) arrives out of nowhere to keep the naughty boys in check and on their toes.
The concept of the film bears resemblance to last year’s unashamed sex comedy, Masti, in that three friends dissatisfied with their marriages look for some excitement outside their marriage. .
Amongst the moments that stand-out are:
The pre-interval point when Sanjay catches three naughty man!
The portions depicting spider man!
The meeting of all the characters in Chaand Ko Tod Dunga song!
Another attraction is that Shaadi No.1 boasts a showcase of stars.
Shaadi no.1 belongs to Sharman Joshi. His character is similar to ones he’s played before in style and he steals the show!
Sanjay Dutt is in full-form also. Zayed Khan’s comic timing and body language are impeccable. Fardeen Khan shows a great flair for comedy after No Entry. He shares stellar situations with Zayed in the first half of the film.
Amongst the female leads, Ayesha Takia is a winner .Soha should ask for her refund on those acting classes! She is mechanical throughout. Esha Deol relegates to the background and has hardly any footage.
Satish Shah as a confused father is flawless.
Technically, the film is sound. The dialogues are witty and with sexual innuendos . Cinematography is striking. Locales of France are scenic.
However the music leaves much to be desired. Barring ’Hello Madam’, music by Anu Malik is disappointing.
The film could have also done with a smaller run-time and crisp editing. Some of the pre-interval portions need to be trimmed.
The film has already flopped big time at the bx office.Go and watch it with free mind , you might enjoy it!
PS-Had Salman Khan acted in this movie , it would have been a hit like David Dhawan’s previous films like MUJHSE SHAADI KAROGI and MAINE PYAAR KYUN KIYA
