I’ve heard some good things about the site, and thought it wouldn’t hurt. I don’t know if my profile had a "take advantage of me" sign, but I ran into some strange people. One of these people was someone who I had to call the cops on. Why? Because a certain Indian man(whom I’ve never met) was mad at me when I wrote to him saying we weren’t a good match. Rejection is inevitable in the dating game. If someone doesn’t like you, find someone who does. Making threats to someone, leaving drunk angry voicemails, and resorting to verbal abuse isn’t the right way to handle a match on shaadi.com not working out.
I asked shaadi.com for a refund, but they refused. They said they couldn’t do anything about the abusive member, unless they had written evidence(my saved phone calls weren’t enough). While other people I chatted with didn’t seem as bad as that one guy, they didn’t seem like they were looking for anything serious.
Once I left shaadi.com, I met the man of my dreams. Some say hang in there, but shaadi.com wasn’t for me. I didn’t feel safe, and I’m sure there are other women with similar experiences.but are too scared to speak out.
