Shaadi.com center experience

Shaadi.com center is a franchise stores for shaadi.com where their employees help to make matches.


Earlier it was called shaadi point. They changed the name to shaadi.com center as the name shaadi.com is more popular( branding reasons). This is what the employees informed us when I and my parents went there for finding out the various schemes they offer.


There have a bunch of schemes among which the personalized membership is > 10, 000 Rs.


We liked the personalized membership even though it is costly because it offers a lot of facilities. Some of which are - it is for 9 months, they will take care of searching matches for you, arrange for meetings between u and the match, give news paper adds in TOI and lots more.


We were told that there is a discount on the personalized membership only for today and that it wont be available tomorrow. Tactics to get the customer.


Then we were shown their supposedly impressive database where only serious customers register as they have paid and registered. We were given the surety that once we register this database is so big that we will find matches soon.


Any ways we took our time to decide and contacted them after a week. Signed up for the membership. Here is the mistake we made. We paid them 9.8 k Rs upfront. Once the money is given we can not expect any service. This is not only with this shaadi.com center. I have noticed the same with any service in Bangalore( my current location).


Now they are not finding the relevant matches and giving lame excuses.


Issue 1: I asked them why are you not finding matches based on my partner criteria?


Reply : What ever matches we are finding do not match with your looks. Most of them are too dark in complexion.


My problem is when on earth did I tell them not to find matches who are dark. The fact is that they are not doing proper search in their database at all. They haven’t taken time to understand my partner criteria. So much for personalized service!


Issue2: Then I asked them that since we are not finding enough matches in ur database so lets try the other option of giving add in news paper. I asked them which cities the add will be published in TOI. They told it is a "national selection" meaning that it will be published in metros and some more cities. They informed me that the add will appear in all cities. But it appeared only in Bangalore.


I asked my relatives in metros to check the TOI sunday times. There was no add.


Reply: Their manager got very angry that it is not possible and she told me that they will get the papers from the metros and show me that the add is published.


The fact is that it is not published. Are these their money saving tactics?


I thought that I will be at peace now that I have handed over my responsibility to some professional. But these guys are giving a bad experience. Even to get work out of them I have to be doubly involved. They are unprofessional.
