Satish Kaushik one of the best comic actors and he directed films like TERE NAAM which was a hit and VAADA a flop but a well made film.He turns into comedy and directs a comedy but the film teeters betn a drama and a comedy and thatz where it fails.
the first half has entertaining scenes like Akshaye coming to know his disease and Malika’s scenesbut it lacks the meat .
T he film is a comedy so no brains which worked in NO ENTRY and other films but this film gets bizzare and the second half is a big downer.
the SUneil Shetty portions and gulshan grover portions to the climax it is all superficial and fail to make the audience laugh.
Kaushik’s direction is limited by a script even otherwise this isn’t on par with what we expected from him, screenplay by sanjay chhel is listless but his dialogues are well penned and a saving grace to an extent.
Music is okay, ANKHIYON SE GAL KAR DI and BIJURIYA stand out
Akshaye Khanna is the saving grace to a large extent, his change of expressions prove again that he is amongst the best, this is his 2nd comic role after HULCHUL which was a better film but his acting is much better and he seems at ease throughout.
Ayesha gets to play a conventional role which is very boring and her work is just ok
Malika has to just act as a seductress which she does well, she doesn’t have much scope to show acting potential which one saw only in MURDER.
AFtab is wasted, he plays second fiddle throughout but his long hair suits him.
Suneil Shetty is a highlight, he suits his role to the T but he has less screentime.
Rajpal Yadav is getting typecast but does well.
ANupam Kher doesn’t impress.
Boman Irani is as usual. Plus Points: a few comic scenes, performances by akshaye, rajpal and suneil
music Minus Points: second half, too bizzare script,
