Shaadi Se Pehle is a feel good entertainer but an ordinary screenplay, coupled with some illogical turn of events, take it downhill.
Akshaye Khanna works for an ad agency, and he and Ayesha Takia are in love and are engaged. Akshaye goes for a check-up to Boman Irani who plays a doctor. There is a misunderstanding and Akshaye gets the impression that he is suffering from cancer and has only a year to live.
In order to make it easier on Ayesha, Akshaye poses as a sly character to break off the engagement. Just when he is close to his mission, Akshaye meets Mallika Sherawat who plays an International model. Mallika is drawn towards Akshaye and falls in love with him, and Ayesha is compelled to break the engagement when she sees another woman in her his life.
Now Akshaye faces another problem. Mallika wants to marry him and there is nothing he can do to refute her advances, because her brother is a don (Suniel Shetty).
Loosely inspired by Meri Biwi Ki Shaadi, Shaadi Se Pehle has many aces up its sleeve. The narrative moves at a brisk pace, keeping you hooked.
Whats appreciable is that every single characters gel completely with the screenplay and dont hinder the films progress.Special mention has to be made of the way Director Satish Kausik has introduced certain characters and subsequently weaved them in the story, without deviating from the main plot and yet all those characters are complete with no loose strings hanging.
But the graph of the film takes a dip towards the second half. Its not as exciting as one wouldve expected it to be.
Music is tuneful. The songs are catchy and youthful. Cinematography is alright. Dialogues are quite good.
Akshay does his part well, expressing the right expressions at the right places. Mallika lights up the frame whenever she appears. Ayesha Takia is just about okay.
To put it Shaadi Se Pehle is a feel good, decent entertainer that holds ample appeal for the youth mainly.
