This aint about a prticular college

I’m finally done with my final semester engineering exams..... does that actually mean I’m an engineer????

Look at the number of guys who’ve become engineers...

According to the latest stats............ andhra pradesh alone produces more than 1.32 times the number of engineers produced in the whole of UK in an year... and yeah when I say produced it aint some machinery ... its the number of students coming out every year.

Andhra pradesh has a staggering 200+ engineering colleges

Now each of them has on an average 4 branches with 60 students in each branch

So that makes it a total of 50000+ engineers every year

And look at the opportunities in andhra... I’d say about 8 to 10 thousand an year

ok and then taking out students who prefer to study ahead abt 15% say that wud be 7500

Ao atmost I’d say at most 35% of the students coming out would be doing something related to their field...

Whats happening here..... 35%????????? is that all

And looking at what the others are doing.... call centres..... data entry...... software installation guys.........

Is it really worth taking the pain and studying engineering for 4 yrs when u are gonna end up doing these?????

And ok say we consider those as proper jobs too.... we still end up with close to 40% of the people coming out unemployed....

Ok consider another factor ... the girls getting married.... no offence meant to anybody... we still end up with close to 35% of the so called ’’engineers’’ out of college and got nothing to do......

At this rate we’d soon have unemployed youth in andhra fighting to get more than the population of a few small countries....... huusshhh!!!!!!!

Don’t blame the govt...... I dont blame the students either....’cos I was one of them

I believe what is required now is more people looking at different things..... is it absolutely necessary that one becomes an engineer??? why can’t it be like in north india where where a student doing a B.Com is respected as much as an engineering student ... in andhra a B.Com student is looked upon like a good for nothing.... just a guy who could do some clerical work.....

Its time we change......... stop joining in the engineering colleges... they’ll reduce the intake automatically.... do more career oriented courses....

Does this make me look like an idiot... I know I am one.... sitting at 7:00 in the morning and writing all this..... anyways I’m still an engineer.... just done with my exams and got nothing better to do.....
