Among Bollywood actors, while Aamir Khan is famous for his versatility Shahrukh is better known as a romantic actor. It was ’’Fauzi’’ where he started his acting career on screen. Earlier he used to act in different drama groups.
A Post graduate in Mass Communication from Jamia Milia Islamia University, Delhi, Shahrukh has done his graduation in Economics. Once in an interview he mentioned that, his mother wanted him to sit for the IITs and he did. He cleared the entrance exam but did not go forward. He lost his father at an early stage and was brought up by his mother (she was a Collector) and elder sister. They used to live in Delhi.
Shahrukh met Gouri at a Disco while she was just 18 years’ old. King Khan admits that it was attraction which took him closer to her and later on something more than love made them get married. As usual, like a Hindu-Muslim love story Gouri’s parents were against this marriage. But Shahrukh made them realize how much they want to be together. At last it was a happy starting......Shahrukh and Gouri got married for 3 times. Once it was legal, 2nd was according to Hindi rituals and 3rd one was ’’Nikah’’-the Muslim Marriage ceremony.
It was the time when Shahrukh was not a Star. He started his filmi career with Hema Malini’s ’’Dil Ashna Hai’’ though the first release was ’’Deewana’’.That was just the starting, then ’’Bazigar’’, ’’Darr’’, ’’Anzaam’’, ’’Kabhi ha kabhi na’’...and then the blockbuster one, ’’Dilwale Dulhania Le jayenge’’. His career was at it’s best. By the time he bagged awards as best actor (Bazigar), best performance in a negative role (Anzaam), best comedian.....etc.
There was no Godfather for him and he struggled a lot to get a platform. Of course he has always been lucky, but the hard work he delivered to reach the top should not be ignored. He has always put his best in whatever he did. Perhaps that is the secret of his huge success!!
How could we forget his terrific acting in ’’Bazigar’’ just before dying? Expressing his anger in ’’Anzaam’’ when he kills Madhuri’s husband? How was that while shouting for his love ’’Kiran’’ in ’’Darr’’? Hey....What about showing his confidence in love by telling ’’Babuji khud tumhare haat mere haat me denge.....’’! Ohh!! Then in ’’Ashoka’’ while he turns as Dharmashoke from Chandashoke....in ’’Chalte Chalte’’ when he says that, he doesn’t want to leave something on ’’Kaash’’, simply excellent.
Hope you guys remember his acting in ’’Dil to pagal hai’’ and ’’Kal ho na ho’’, too. I loved that scene where he tells Saif Ali Khan that if he could live more!! Just splendid acting by him. Even in ’’Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gam’ he did so well beside Big B. Amitabh is undoubtedly the best but in ’’Mohabbatein’’ and ’’K3g’’ Shahrukh has shown us that he can steal the attraction of audience, too even if Big B is there.
Shahrukh’s love chemistry with Kajol goes the best. Shahrukh-Juhi, Shahrukh-Rani also go very well. Of late (in ’’Dil se..’’) he did so well with Priety also. I’ve even found him comfortable with Madhuri though he is younger than her. The basic fact is Shahrukh Khan knows how to be a perfect pair with her heroine.
King Khan ofcourse had same kind of mannerisms in maximum movies earlier but as he become matured, his acting started showing us various dimensions. He has always been compared to Aamir Khan but when asked, always he mentioned that Aamir is a great actor and he also learns from him. What a confession!! Very professional indeed!! With Rakesh Roshan’s ’’Kaho na.....’’ industry thought perhaps then onwards Ritwik would rule, but Shahrukh maintained his place forever.
One very important characteristic is Shahrukha has never mingled his family life with his career. He has a very planned and happy family life with Gouri (his wife), Aryan (his son) and Suhani (his daughter). They are a perfect happy family.
He has always struggled a lot to reach this position. It took ten long years to reach here, as the King Khan says. ’’Mannat’’(his home) is one of his possessions after 10 years in this film industry.
He certainly has worse sides of his character but as a whole he seems to be a gentleman and a perfect family person. Playing with his kids and his laptop are his favourite past time. His company ’’Dremz Unlimited’’ didn’t do well with the films like ’’1 2 ka 4’’ or ’’Phir bhi Dil hai Hindustani’’ though the 2nd one is a very good movie. Now he has changed the name as ’’Red Mirchi’’ and produced ’’Main Hoon Na’’. This is actually his company where his friends Juhi Chowla and Aziz Mirza are partners. Hope this time his company will go well.
After his back surgery he has come back again to rule the filmi dunia! His strategy is to do 4 films in a year apart from doing stage shows and dancing in private parties. Yah...Shahrukh believes himself as a complete entertainer and wants to do ot to the fullest. I remember in one interview he said that, when he was a kid, he used to play the role of a monkey in ’’Raam Leela’’. Sounds interesting??!!
Recently in ’’Veer-Zara’’, he has done a great job with the grey hair look. In December Shahrukh will come with ’’Swades’’ a new one. Lets wish him all the best for his brilliant career.
