Why, Sharukh, why?

Sharukh Khan was one of my favourite actors in the 90s. I loved watching most of his films especially Kabhie Haan Kabhie Naa, Baazigar, Karan Arjun etc. But the following movies were some of those rare ones which I love to hate due to some overacting or poor script or direction as well as a lot other factors.

1) HUM TUMHARE HAIN SANAM

I stopped watching this movie after some time as it was nothing, but ridiclous. Sharukh playing the supicious husband of Madhuri was not bad, but the script didn’t seem to be good enough. Salman’s performance too was not up to the mark. I think that Sharukh shouldn’t have acted in this movie, incase whatever may have happened.

2) GUDDU

From this movie’s name I had thought that it was not worth watching, but I still watched it as there was nothing better in the other channels. Oh! It was a complete mental torture. The problems in the head that Shahrukh’s character had is very small compared to the head ache the viewers are meant to suffer. Manisha Koirala doesn’t seem to suit the role and Mukesh Khanna’s performance was below average too. I can’t understand why they make movies like this.

3) BAADSHAH

Oh! my God! This guy can walk on the walls and see through the clothes as well as have a toffee like bomb. What in the hell is the director think that he is doing? Who has such an explosive mind to write a stupidic script? It is sheer madness or he thinks that the viewers are nothing but idiots. Even kids will not believe this. Sharukh gave a good performance in the movie and the comedy was not bad too. Twinkle Khanna gave an idiotic performance, may be the worst of her life.

4) DUPLICATE

Sharukh Khan in double role! Wow! It seemed very interesting and I went to see it only to find that it was nothing other than garbage. Juhi Chawla and Sonali Bendre gave excellent performances and Sharukh’s performance as a gangster and a guy with a childish character too was not very bad even with a bit over acting, but the movie does not have what it takes to be a good movie. It consists of a lot of idiotic jokes which were rather not necessary and should have been avoided.

5) KABHIE KHUSHI KABHIE GHUM

This movie contained a lot more ghum other than khushi. The crying scenes and laughing scenes seems to be the same. Sometimes, when they are crying, it may seem like laughing. Shahrukh, Hritik and Kareena overacted a bit while Kajol, Amitabh and Jaya Bachan were stable. I think that Shahrukh didn’t get much importance in the movie due to the presence of the other big stars.

The are some other movies I would have liked to include. They are Devdas, Asoka, Dil Se and Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani.
