Actually writing under the wrong category of Shah Rukh Khan. Could not find a separate section so decided to post it under this category itself. If e have MP3 players which has songs of one particular actor, why not 10 best songs of the actor. Remember Shammi Kapoor? Any crap, weird, good, average song of his became an instant hit, thanks to Mohd. Rafi and Shammis jhatkas and matkas! Just was wondering if Shah Rukh made the song special or is it the other way round. Yet I am unable to figure out. Anyways, here are my ten favourite songs.
10) Tujhe dekha toh yeh jana sanam: This one is evergreen love song of every couple, the Sholay of love stories. Though it can be passed on as just another love song, but then the popularity of the movie has really catapulted this song to unknown heights.
9) Tujh mein rab dikhta hai (Rab Ne Bana D Jodi) : Now this is a usual song like Kuch Kuch hota hai, but its with a slight difference- a difference of a decade. Nothing really has changed except for the fact that we have more young actresses with our good old Khan. Also the freshness of Kuch Kuch Hota hai is retained with a tinge of sophistication.
8) Chaiyya Chaiya (Dil Se): The first one to be credited for this song is Rehmans beats which are just perfect for the train. The second one is of course cinematography of Santosh Sivan. The train slowly passing through picturesque locales coupled with a brilliant choreography and of course Khan jumping like a monkey on the top of the train is a treat to watch.
7) Baazigar (title song): A more innocent looking couple singing and dancing all the way to search a place in our hearts as they were lesser known of the lot then. The stars grew older, richer and more popular while this song remained with us reminding of our younger days.
6) Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (Title): Agreed, there are three actors in the song who became superstars later. But then the two beauties are after one be(a)st. A typical bollywoodish song, in case you want a gora to know anything about a romantic bollwood songs , you know which one to play. By the way this one is Nagesh Kukunoors favourite too.
5) Jiya Jale (Dil Se): It is a girl singing the while song. But can you forget him dancing in the boat? And in a dhoti amidst the elephants and some words which cannot be understood easily by a non-mallu. An intense choreography by Farah Khan has let the song retain a no. 1 position for a very long time.
4) Chaand Taare (Yes Boss): Abhijeet was to Shah Rukh what Nitin Mukesh was to Raj Kapoor. A common mans uncommonly big dreams, we all identify with it. And he became uncommonly famous singing Bas Itna Sa Khwaab hai.
3) Meri Mehebooba (Pardes) : Mismatched outfit adorn Shah Rukh while he croons Meri Mehebooba. I cant say the same about Do Dil mil rahe hein (Pardes), since you admire Sanus voice more here.
2) Kal Ho Na Ho (Title song): Admit it - doesnt Khan even once come in your head even if the soul stirring melody transports you into a different world altogether. There is a tinge of sadness and the evegreen song suits every mood, any romantic moment.
1) Mitwa (KANK): Even being unfaithful is done in style. With picturesque perfect locales, a designer clothed Rani, Melodious music which has liberal usage of drums as well as the singer apart from background Mitwa sung by Shankar Mahadevan and of course SRK. Hear it 20 times, and you still would like to hear it again and yet wouldnt realize why you love the song so much?
There are many more songs which has made the movie and the star more popular, but either they are not my favourite or the actor has been overrated without any substantial reason.
Of all these songs which one is your favourite?
