Shahid is my favorite Bollywood actor! He has a lot going for him. He’s cute, a great dancer, quite talented, and a good actor overall. However, some of the film choices he has made have not been that smart.
He seems to do well in romantic roles like in "Chup Chup Ke, " "Jab We Met, " "Kismat Konnection, " and "Vivah." "Chance Pe Dance" was an okay movie. I felt like it sent a powerful and positive message to its viewers. "You can do anything as long as you believe in yourself and have the determination, drive, and passion."
Bad movie choices include "Kaminey" and "Paathshaala." I saw "Kaminey" and felt it was one of the worst Bollywood movies I had ever seen. It was considered a "dark thriller." But there was absolutely no story line and it was incredibly violent. I also didn’t like Shahid’s bad villian role(Charlie). I know to be a true versatile actor, an actor should be able to do both positive and negative roles. However, his negative role in the film just didn’t suit him.
"Paathshaala" had great potential to be an "inspiring" and "uplifting" teacher-student type movie. But it just didn’t seem to have good direction or a proper story line. The movie could have sent its message in a more logical and clearer manner.
I feel like Shahid has great potential for the future. I know he will be adding action movies to his list, which will be cool. But I also would like to see him in a medieval role(something more masculine). I think if he was given more serious and challenging roles then he just may end up surprising us. There’s a lot more in store for this upcoming Bollywood star.
