Shaitaan, a movie many didn’t expect much from but still had that flash thing which attracted a few. I was not much interested in it too so didn’t go to the theater to watch it. Saw it on TV on some channel & was pretty impressed with the movie.
The story of 5 youngsters who are in different class of people; 1 rich guy, 1 rich NRI girl, 1 midle class guy, 1 struggling actress & a guy who does odd jobs to earn his living & also deals in drugs n all & is addicted too. Also there is a Cop involved who is among the main character.
The story goes like - these bunch of guys become friends & are involved in boozing & dope parties frequently. One night they get on to the road & race with some other guy & in that act the run over a scooter killing 2 people. They run away & hide their car but a corrupt police officer finds this & asks or bribe of 25 lakhs.
They take odd steps to arrange the money & there are various twists & turns in their journey. The honest office now gets involved in this case & cracks it somehow but till then 2 friends are killed & other 3 in bad situations. However it ends on a mixed note.
The direction is top notch. Anurag Kashyap is a great find for the Indian Cinema & his direction is too good. The background score suits the screenplay all the time. Actors, though a few of them are new, have performed very well.
The movie is a good watch. It might not go well with all type of people though.
