The Farrelly brothers, known for their comedies with varying levels of grossness like Theres Something About Mary and Me, Myself and Irene, come up with yet another hilarious movie. But this time, they keep it clean, more or less and deliver a strong message.
The story is about a man who is obsessed with external beauty, getting hypnotised to view only the inner beauty and falling in love with an obese woman. The movie has a fable-like approach and gives out serious thoughts in the second half.
The Farrellys fixation with handicapped people continues here too. Also, some portions are illogical and left unexplained.
Black fits his role to a T while Paltrow plays a smaller yet big role. Though technical aspects can be overlooked in such a movie, the make-up and effects on the latter as the obese woman are good.
Two hours of enjoyment with some thought-provoking ideas are good enough reasons to watch this movie
