I opened an account with Sharekhan approximately seven years ago.
After using it for a few months and incurring losses in the market, I stopped using the account.
Recently, I decided to invest again as the markets are down.
I added ₹2000 to my account but found the balance to be zero
Upon contacting customer support, I was informed that the amount was deducted for account maintenance charges. still I need to pay another ₹1000 pending amc charges.
I was never informed about these charges, otherwise, I would have deactivated the account earlier.
The customer care representative(022 6115 1111) mentioned that these charges are outlined in the Terms and Conditions, which I had signed.
However, it is unreasonable to expect customers to read through extensive Terms and Conditions without proper notification of such charges.
I was directed to contact the local Sharekhan branch at 04040180004(Rakshitha), and subsequently to RM Alok at 04040208532, who has not been responsive.
This lack of assistance has been very frustrating.
I am requesting a refund of the ₹2000 for services that I have not used over the years.
Additionally, I would like to close my account permanently.
