(a) I purchased a Sharp TV after selecting various models. It was offered with seven years guarantee.
I was very happy to possess a Sharp TV (as its receiption is better than earlier BPL TV), as it is one of the best, before I realised that I am purchasing it from Kalyani Sharp Ltd., their Indian subsidiary.
I was under the impression that the warranty card will take a few weeks. When it crossed three months, I started getting worried. I used to contact the dealer, in turn he used to contact the Sharp representative and again we used to be back to square one. This went on, when ultimately, I had to inform the dealer that I shall have to move to the Consumer Court.
Once I mentioned this there was sudden activity and the warranty card appeared on the scene.
I somehow do not understand as to how the company is being run on a low profile, inspite of illustrious parent. The scrip has been languishing for quite some time and there is no adequate return.
Are these two things related ? Is there really no dynamism displayed by Kalyani Sharp Ltd in dealing with customers as well as investors ?
