The Sharp Carousel R-530EK is a 1200 Watt microwave with Sensor Cooking. Ive had this microwave about 6 months now and I have no complaints about it at all.
There are a lot of buttons on the front of the thing, though, and it takes you a time or two to get familiar with it. Once you do, though, it definitely makes life a little easier. The microwave has settings (one touch button) for everything from popcorn to rice, where all you have to do is press one button and it does the work for you. If you want a baked potato, no problem. Press the baked potato button and then press start and in just a few minutes, youve got a steamy hot, soft and very good potato.
The same for popcorn and rice and other things. This microwave has a steam sensor that judges how done something is, how hot it is and how much longer it needs to cook.
It also has a Sensor Reheat setting. If you want something reheated just perfectly, this is the setting. It senses the steam and heat from the item being cooked and shuts off when it is done, preventing that horrible hardness you get when you overheat something in the microwave. It has special settings for defrosting poultry or other meats, and lets you know when something needs to be rotated or turned over, or stirred. It also lets you know when to stir the food being cooked, and then restart it. The whole family likes it.
This is not a compact, college-dorm room size microwave. This is a large, family style microwave.
It is easy to clean as well. I just take then glass turntable out, rinse it and wipe it off, then take a damp sponge and wipe the inside well. As for the outside, a bit of glass cleaner and it looks brand new.
The price was about $250 US dollars. I highly recommend this microwave.
