I purchased this recently, mainly because of my wifes repeated prodding (she is also working), giving me the excuse that when children (9 and 14 years) return home from school there is none at home, and they have to have the fridge stuff (which is not always good) or they may meddle with the stove, which is risky.
I still do not use it. But my wife and my children have already become adept in using it. Hot milk, French fries, Pizza (my childrens favourite!), and so on, all ready in no time.
The 880B is a convection model in the sense that apart from the usual heating and cooking, it can also be used for bakery items, such as toasting bread and making pizza. It is ideal for non-vegetarians, but my household is vegetarian. Yet, for children little pleasures are the great treasures of life, and even if we have limited use of the grills for making only pizza, etc., bowing to their wishes, I went in for the Convection model.
The product is elegant. Apart from the instructions on it, the instruction manual, and a recipe book, a CD provided along with it (which can be used on computer) demonstrates its operation for about an hour, with cooking different items, and so on.
After the product was brought home, a person from the Sharp came home and demonstrated for an hour the products use. I was convinced by his and by implication the Companys professionalism.
It is a Japanese product, but my consignment came from some other country. I remember reading somewhere (either in the brochure or from the CD) that the Company began its business venture with the Sharp pencil, about which all of us know.
The pencil is not really sharp enough as a Sharp product, and I do not use it. Probably Sharp may not be paying enough attention to it as it has better things to produce now.
The 880B Oven is worth possessing. I am told, it hardly needs any service. I have to wait and see. I may save a little on LPG but I will have to pay a lot more on power consumption because of the new addition to the household gadgets.
In any case, my family members are now a contended lot, at least insofar as I have met their demand for this product.
