I used to be a regular customer of shatayu. They have multiple branches around bangalore, thier main branch being a jp nagar one . I used to visit them every month for abhyanga and a navara facial in jp nagar branch and they are just brilliant in their services .
We happened to shift from jp nagar to banaswadi .since I am not a big fan of spas , I went in search of any ayurvedic body massage centre . I felt extremely relieved the moment I saw shatayu in kasturi nagar .the moment I went past the reception to my massage room I started feeling uncomfortable abt the environment coz it no where looked like the main shatayu . this branch was a house converted to massage centre.i convinced myself saying the service is wat matters and not the place . I dont kno if I was too tierd of shifting n unpacking or if the masaage was really effecient . whatever it was the good feeling on shatayu restored back .
The next month I again booked d appointment n went to get a massage . I asked for the same masseus who gave me my 1st masaage there .but she was already assigned to someone else .i just went ahead to my massage room . this time again I was feeling very uncomfortable with those darker-than-usual untidy rooms and bathroom. I again tried to get myself to just enjoy the massage .but I wAs not successful this time coz the constant honking and people talking on the mainroad were distracting me . I asked my masseus to close the windows but she declined saying" its ok, there is just some traffic that is getting cleared " . after 10 mins on the table I felt a sudden sting on my hand .with the pain I got up , since my eyes were closed and had oil all over my eyes , I could not see what stung me. I asked d masseus and she said , "its a fly .as it is dark I cud not c it come" . really ! ? how can a fly that stings ( u can imagine the size) which will definitely b bigger dan a normal fly which cud sneak thru window or a narrow opening , can ever come inside a massage place .i just pushed d drapes n I c d window was open . I questioned her abt it n she said -"its evening time na madam so v ve kept it open " first of all how irresponsible it is to keep the windows open in a masaage place where ppl vl b naked getting massages n second of all how can such a reputed place not have a insect or mosquito killer or atleast a repeller . if the place can attract flies u can imagine the level of hygiene provided .
I just asked her to finish my massage fast n went away as the sting bite was giving me terrible pain . by the time I came back home my hand was completely swollen . I had to go to doctor soon after n she told me that was a bee or a wasp bite as she was able to c d sting . so I had to get an injection and antibiotics for one week
that was the last time I visited shatayu, kasturi nagar branch .
