Best prison film. Redeem it asap.

Saw this movie on HBO. Got every minute’s worth of 2 hours and 25 minutes spent watching two very touching performances by Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman

Andy Dufrens (Tim Robbins), banker by profession, and a killer forced by circumstances comes to the Shawshank Prison. What begins is a brilliant tale of two friends. Andy is here with a motto. He works his way through the people around him, has high hopes of getting justice one day. He preaches the same to his inmates in the prison. Red (Morgan Freeman) is deeply influenced by Andy’s thoughts and respects his opinions.

The movie has really nice dialogues and equally neat dialogue delivery. The other characters that are worth watching is a guy called ’’Brooke’’ who is a librarian and later released.

My tear glands worked over time when Brooke is released and stays in an Inn for a few days and eventually hangs himself when he feels that he cannot live without prison walls surrounding him. He is not made from the outside world. Later, Red also feels the same way. There’s a scene to watch where ’’Red works in a grocery store and he asks his manager to permit him everytime he wants to go and pee.’’

The story builds up well to the Climax when Andy’s plot is explained and how he breaks free from the prison. A nice prison movie to watch when you are alone with your sweetheart. It has some disturbing scenes so don’t make your kids watch it.
