Horrible experience at Sheetla Hospital & Eye Inst

Yesterday I had a bitter experience with OPD staff & eye consultant. As  I was a loyal client to Sheetla Hospital, I planned to consult ophthalmologist for eye test. Therefore I made a call to eye OPD on 20th April at 5:45 PM to know the availability of doctor on 21st April evening and came to know that I can come to hospital tomorrow by 6PM.

Thereafter, while heading towards hospital from my office in Delhi, I again made a call to eye OPD on 21st April at 5:15 PM as I had taken Half day leave from my office to consult doctor. Then, I was advised to reach hospital latest by 6:45 PM. But I reached at eye OPD counter at 6:09PM and was informed by OPD receptionist Ms.  Sangeeta that waiting time would be 25 minutes & eye dilation process – 45 minutes & the. Overall consultation & testing time would be 90 minutes. I agreed for the same and waited for my turn.

Later on, at 6:55PM computerized testing was done and advised for dilation. But dilation process was refused to be done by hospital authorities and suggested to come next day for getting dilation done. I was sent to eye specialist Ms Shilpa  for eye check up without dilation. The said ophthalmologist instructed to have eye check instantly as  she was supposed to leave at 7 PM and the time was 7;05PM by then.

She also imposed me to have eye sight number  without dilation as it is not required for patient with age group 40-42. Then I asked doctor, if I would like to have done eye testing without dilation, I could have visited to optometrist at optical outlet. Then she tried to give false information that dilation is necessary only for patient with Hypermetropia.

I conveyed him that I have presbyopia and have headache+ eye pain that’s why I had come to consult. This was not all over. The doctor & OPD staff treated me so badly that I decided not to come this hospital again although my family member had procedure for catatract and I also consulted in 2012. I tried to find out availability of Dr Ajay Sharma to inform all these proceedings but he was not in hospital. Finally, I came out without testing in deep regret & disappointment.
