Dr. Vivek Bhaskar had seen my mother in May 2017 since she had difficulty in her vision. This doctor advised to get her diabetes under control and said there is nothing much he could do. Fast forward April 2018.my mother lost her sight in her left eye. Not happy with meeting Vivek who was in a way responsible for my mothers vision loss, I booked an appointment with Dr. Rajashekhar at 9:30 AM on 20/6/2018. After making us wait for over 1.5 hours, the Supreme Being arrived eventually at 11:10 AM, only to hurriedly examine her and refer her to Dr. Shailesh. All it took him was not more than 5 minutes. So much for diligence and care towards a patient who has lost an eye due to incapable and incompetence of Dr. Vivek in his own hospital! Well, Dr. Shailesh said we should have brought her earlier so that something could have been done to save her eye. I said we were not advised to visit her after the visit last year. He pulled up an internal patient record and said Dr. Vivek had written to see the patient after 6 months. Well, guess what? The lousy doctor never told nor wrote us anything to that effect. Anyway, Dr. Shailesh prescribed eye drops so that the condition of her left eye does not worsen. He again referred her to Dr. Vivek for further opinion about her right eye. I showed him weekly blood sugar test report for the past year and said her fluctuating sugar level could not be brought under control and asked him what else could be done to prevent vision loss in her right eye as well. Well, this good-for-nothing chap suggested we get her FBS, PPBS, HbA1c, Fasting Lipid Profile, BI. Urea, S. Creatinine, Sodium, Potassium, Carotid Doppler tests done so that he can give his weighted opinion. I spent close to Rs.8, 000 and half a day to get these tests done at Apollo(well, as you might have guessed, Carotid Doppler testing facility is not available at Shekhar Eye Hospital!). Carotid Doppler scan revealed there is severe blockage that might cause further complications including vision loss. When I took my mother with the full report to see him on 21/6/2018, he glanced at it for 2 minutes and pronounced that her blood sugar level needs to be brought under control and there is nothing else he can do. When I had already submitted a detailed weekly blood sugar test report, what was the need for this bird-brain to administer the same tests again? When the Carotid Doppler scan revealed a serious risk factor, how can he wash off his hands and say nothing else could be done? If his prognosis was going to be this lazy, careless, and irresponsible, what was the need to advise those tests when his pea sized brain could muster nothing else up? I am deeply disappointed with Shekhar Eye Hospital. Dr.Rajashekhar and his medical staff are nothing but a bunch of repugnant money minded vampires. They lack all of expertise, empathy and ethics, which they advertise as their motto. I would strongly discourage anyone, who wishes well for themselves or their near and dear ones, from visiting this cesspool of a place.
