Its a pity this dhaba is not known beyond the surrounding areas except for the odd foodie elsewhere. Its located at Diamond Point on Sikh Road, Secunderabad. Starting off as a small dhabha with a few tables n chairs, its now a bigger operation with a small air conditioned room on the ground floor and a bigger non-a/c section upstairs. As soon as u enter u are greeted by a smiling sardar or the sardarni aunty-ji who run that place.
When u study the menu what first strikes u are the low prices of the items! the menu is not must different from any other dhaba or a multi cuisine restaurant: the usual nan-rotis and currys. But there is an ace up the sleeve here: the most divine sarsoon da saag and makki di roti u expect to get this side of the vindhyas! thats billed as the speciality and deserves that title! all the currys are great here and worth every paisa....and more.
My fav (apart from the two mentioned) are: paneer butter masala, palak paneer, dal fry, aloo gobi, aloo muttar, butter chicken, chicken do pyaza, kadai chicken and tandoori chicken. I usually have any 2 of the above in each visit.
Dont try the chinese menu here. Leave chinese cuisine to the chinese restaurants please. The service is also quite fast and prompt.
I would say food in this dhaba is worth more than those in many other more expensive restaurants in town. If u happen to be in the vicinity or if u r a foodie anywhere in hyderabad, please try out this place. You wont regret it!
