Situated in a place like Bhandup which is considered as a totally turn-off from Mumbai’s standards, I found this wonderful place called ’’Shera’’....a classy place and trying to set its own standard.
Well, this place is situated at LBS Marg and is a 10 mins drive from bhandup station on way to Mulund...closest landmark is The Asian Paints factory.
I’m not sure as to what was the intention behind naming this multi- cuisine, multi-cultural, multi-ambience place as shera...But From my experience I say that this place stands to its name Shera..the Tiger.
This place not only rocks you by its multi- faceted appearance, but it also roars like a Tiger to command its supremecy in the hearts of foodies like me. Visiting this place on a pleasantly cold Saturday night of Mumbai in December was certainly a nice experience.
This place has four types of seating arrangements as per choice of your mood, food and the purpose of your visit to this place.
Classic Bar stocking all types of madiras..although I’m a totally alien to madiras...My friends have rated this is a must go.Not to mention , this place has nice ambience.Well....its also a smokers zone.
Family Restaurant : This is for all the gujjus staying in Mulund. A nice place for family serving good veg food. Good menu although
An open air restaurant : This place is typically for the people who like to chill out with friends, like to smoke once a while, like to booze while having a go at the delicious food.Seating arrangements are chairs and tables.Nice place.
One more thing, there is one nice stage set in this open air rest. where nice gazals are being sung ... Live gazals...
- Shera da dhaba : This dhaba is the main crowd-puller of this place. Situated at the terrace portion of the classic Bar, this place is certainly a Shera experiece.
this place being close to the highway and close to mountains gets nice cool brezze.
Da Ambience is excellent with the khatiyas laced with nice covers and good takiyas...u can rest ur soul here while sipping on a glass of fresh lime or a chilled beer served in a uniquely designed glass...Well...its not a glass actually...it was as long as a vase....
Let me come to food....the food is just icing on the cake. It serves punjabi food and they have their own specialities too. The menu is pretty exhaustive and the waiters are too knowledgebale. Once a moment I thought that they are the Graduates from the Catering Colleges flown into this Rest.....they are well knowledged & help u out and selecting the best to suit u from the menu.
What is it famous for : Shera di raan : A complete leg piece of a lamb well cooked in all good spices ... Buddies...My vocab is not that brilliant to describe the feeling when you have the first slice of raan melting in ur mouth. A friend of mine added that a raan is specialty of Kashmir and this is the only rest. in mumbai officially serving Raan on thei menu.
The sweet surprise : Price..... need I say more....
