Shikhara is no doubt a wonderful place to sit, enjoy, relax and listen the Live Ghazals they have every nite, but not a good place I would recommend for food and booze freaks. The ambience is excellent, you actually start enjoying the night with the ghazals, swans and the sound of water around you. The stewards are polite, well dressed and professional. But one place where shikhara screwed up is the F&B Department. The food is not half as tasty as the nearby bhurji pav stall and the booze is exhorbitantly priced. I really dont understand why they messed up on that department. They also have shamiana, a restaurant which is open 24 hours a day, where you get all kinds of snacks and beer. It is one of the lesser known places of new bombay. I strongly believe that they should popularise shamiana, as no toher restaurant in New Bombay offers a 24 hour coffee shop. The coffee shop is decent too. I tried a few Kashmiri dishes, which were pathetic. They also offer Hookah which is decently priced and one of the best available at New Bombay. It is offered in 3 flavours, double apple, cinnamon and strawberry(if I remember it correctly). Dont even think about having a hookah at Hotel Celebrations. It is the most pathetic hookahs I have ever had. Anyway if you ever feel like having a CHANGE with your family, go there with your OWN FOOD and BOOZE!!!(u obviously cant do that). It is not horrible either....worth a try.
