Shillong, which is the capital of Meghalaya is nothing else but ’’A home Away from My Home’’.The City is surrounded by green mountains and pine trees which gives us a wonderful natural air which is not available in most of the state in our country.It is the place where I had completed all my studies and I am there for the a period of more than seven years which give me the opportunity to know much more about the city and also other tourist places which is around the city. Places like cherrapunji which is once the heaviest rainfall in the world is really beautiful.We have been there as a college picnic in the month of may, which is rainy season and this make the place very green and beautiful. As soon as we reach cherrapunji the place is fully surrounded by clouds and we feel like swimming the clouds, it was awesome. The place is full of water falls and landed in a very high mountains where we can have a view of Bangladesh and others beautiful water falls.We do visited many more parks where we have our lunch in one of our classmate resident who is from cherrapunji and her name is Miss Donjinghun blah. The food was really tasty and wonderful since it is prepared in the style of their own tradition and cultural which is served to us with different compliment and sauces.The famost dishes are mainly dohkhle, dohjam, dohmasi and rice.There are also different small hotels which is situated in the mountain surrounded by waterfalls and pinetrees which really look like scotland.The place was so wonderful and beauty that nobody is there to talk about any negative points.So as soon as we reach home i, e, Shillong what comes out in every mouth is that I will surely brings my parents here for holiday as soon as I finished my course and most of them done it. There are also lots of different tourist places in Shillong like swift fall, elephant falls, shillong peak , Catholic church, golflink, lady hydri park and bara- pani which is a small island surrounded by water and others park too where we can relaxed and share our thought with our friends and family.It is my dream and prayer to god to give me one more chance to visit Shillong again so that I can learn more about the places and changes which take part after I left the places and also can compared with other tourist places in other state like goa, Darjeeling, Kerela and other beautiful state in our country. I will like to recommend everyone who is born as a human being to visit Shillong and cherrapunji which is 60 km from Shillong because it is not only a tourist places but also a home away from home where nobody will feel like he is away from his home. Also, the culture is very rich and the people are really friendly and helpful and according to me they will be one of the finiest hospitality provider in the northeast region of India. Everything is cheap and available easily and also u can purchase so many things which is imported from china, thailand, japan and other Asian countries with a very cheap price. It is very important that one must know where he is going and how far is it and whether the place is safe for tourists. According to me if the condition is same and usual like in the year 2003 it is safe and there is no problem at all for anyone to visit the places unlike manipur and nagaland.So why to wait for it. just go and feel and experience the places I don’t think so anyone will say any negative experience about their trip.
