I ve gotto admit ive seen only 5 movies of her, but she was very interesting to watch on big brother though it was a big publicity scam and I hate pseudo reality in movies or tv, but I excused her for the sole reason that it brought a useful debate about racism in u.k, and the english showed they are fair by voting enmasse for her,
she was over the moon though her conduct was rather un becoming as a publicity craving enchantress but nevertheless much better then miss aishwariyas disastrous encounters with declarations of iwont kiss james bond as im an indian nari [lol] and to then letting dylan mcdermott the hunky american stud make love to her in the final reels of mistress of spices, what were you thinking aish .
they are both showgirls and publicity hungry but if I ve to pick one it will be shilpa as she has demonstrated in her new flick METRO, that SHE LOOKS AND ACTS much better then miss rai and she deserved the premiere in leicester square at empire cinema with the english media going bananas over her as she pranced around in her glory and today shes all over daily mail too.
but the acid test was her performance and she is superb as the bitter neglected middleclass housewife shikha [read my metro review ], whether she is jibing her cheating husband or cursing herself for being a trollop or saying goodbye in a melancholy moment to her exlover shiney at the bombay central, her every scene is rivetting in METRO .
Before metro I saw her in the very under rated phir milenge which was good too but metro is her best yet and she is every inch the character shikha she portrays, while her glamour roles with akshay her ex beau in darkan were good as was she the only good thing in the awful DUS and SHAADI with sunjay and salman,
i do hope this underrated actress finds her true pedestal in bollywood as well as the world cinema .
miss shetty one more metro and youll be in madame tassauds, a lesson in acting to preitys, priyankas and aishwariyas who need to see metro to connect with our glorious past of nutans and nargisS heritage, and im not jesting, shes too good in metro .
well done shilpa and as for richard gere hes a good actor and a really good bisexual buddhist man you can hug and kiss him anywhere except in india, as you have been brave enough to do SO and I appreciate your gesture as I hope most indians grow up to appreciate movies like METRO and GERE and SHILPA too
