I with my family had visited Shimla last year during winter. I have been giving this review after recollecting my memory of that interesting visit. We had gone there from Delhi, from Delhi I performed my journey by Kalka mail which ends at Kalka Railway Station at 5.00 AM. From where I had taken Toy train for onwards journey to Shimla.
The Journey through Toy train was really awesome because we had travelled the entire hilly route in the morning time. Fresh air were blowing all the way and giving us good and amazing experience of travelling as we had board on Toy Train first time. I would like to say that it is must preferable mode of journey from Kalka to Shimla if you are going there first time as this gives a nice glimpse of hilly area and villages on the hills. Whenever the train stopped at small stations we use to gen down and looked around and quickly board on the train. At 10.00 AM we reached Shimla where we had booked a room and fresh up ourselves. After that we have visited nearby local area like Mall Road, Lakkar Bazar, Christ Church and on the next day we had gone to Kofri which was approx 20 Km from the Mall Road Shimla.
On that time there was a good snow fall had taken place there. The seen of Kofri was really awesome and breathtaking. We had gone there by house as the local transport was only this on that rout. The roads were full of snow there and care taker of hours riders were enthusiastically providing horse riding to reach Kofri. The visit of Kofri was really memorable for me and my family. We had enjoyed a lot of fun there. It was very difficult to reach Kofri from local stand by sitting on the horses back because it became very uncomfortable to clime the slop. Go in Shimla and enjoyed the interesting spots and don’t forget to visit kofri.
