I saw today comments on Shivyog expressing disappointment, complaining about mismanagement and poor food in shivir, calculating profits earned by such shivirs and saying that nothing new is taught and everything, even mantras are available in our antient texts. From just reading of the review I could guess what the writer expected fro the shivir. People are totally immersed in worldly things. Their experience tells them that you can purchase everything in the market by paying for the goods and for the services. Likewise they expect that since they have paid a good amount for the shivir, they would get good food and good arrangement and all the knowledge of the ancient religious texts. They have also a notion that spritual knowledge should be imparted free of cost. Kindly, before going to any any religious guru, first determine what exactly you want. If you want full realisation like the Siddhas, then forget about the fees you have paid for the shivir. For realisation, r guru.you must be willing to even sacrifice your pranas, your life. If you are not yet prepared for this, pl forget about realisation and the knowledge of the Rishis. By knowledge, I do not mean intellectual knowledge of the scriptures but the experience of what is written in the scriptures. If you want other mundane things then Shivyog is not the correct destination for you and you better go to some other Guru. In Shivyog, the focus is not on mundane achievements, they may come by themselves as you progress, but on raising your cosciousness. So if relying on own experience regarding worldly gains aed.fter joining Shiv Yog, someone inspires you to join also, you may get only disappointment because your focus is misdirected, For such people I would suggest to read some preliminary books on yoga, do some devotional chantings, some meditation at home and read inspirational books like - The POWER of NOW(Eckhard Tolle), MANY LIVES MANY MASTERS(Brian Weiss), Play of consciousness(Swami Muktanand), AN AUTO BIOGRAPHY of A YOGI(Swami Yoganad Paramhans), THE MIMALAYAN MASTERS(Swami Ram), BIOGRAPHY OF Swamy Ram(Dr Trigunayat), Shirdi Sai Baba Jeevan Charit and watch Pravachans of Baba Shivanand on Shivyog.com and on U Tube. After reading, hearing, contemplating for a year or two then decide which Guru to choose. Then you will have no doubts and no fear of being cheated. You will know what exactly you want. Then you will not want to explore the personal life of youir Guru but would know which Guru is suitable for you. After reading so many Indian and western books on yoga and yoga masters and also some scriptures and after coming across some well meaning spritual persons I finally found Avadhoot Baba Shivanad worthy of my devotion. He may not have read many scriptures but he has directly experienced the truth in them and has the ability to make you experience the same provided you have developed enough receptivity. There are so many Gurus in the market, both, genuine and fake. You will get what you deserve depending upon the stage of consciouness you are in .
