Shopclues is known for extremely poor quality merchandise. Their policies support fraudulent sellers and scam artists. There is no buyer protection. I have placed 5 orders on that website - all different merchants.1 order out of 5 turned out to be kind of OK.
I bought 8 shawls in one order from a merchant on ShopClues, his ShopClues ID is varun243varun. Order was worth thousands. This merchant sent me used rags instead of shawls. I called him after I received order(his phone number was in listing). Merchant shamelessly told me that "of course I sent items different from what was pictured in listing, ShopClues is perfect venue for me to get rid of damaged, useless items which I cannot sell in my retail shop".
I called up ShopClues customer service who said they cannot help. I asked customer service repeatedly if they can at least flag the seller so that seller cannot scam other innocent customers aka victims but ShopClues customer service told me that they have no such method. Shopclues automatic system sent me an email requesting feedback for the orders.
I took time to write factual feedback to help other shoppers make informed decisions - no bad words were used in any of my feedback. Shopclues customer service blocked all feedback which mentioned the bad products. I followed up for 4 months with customer service to get them to publish my feedback but they kept on telling me that due to a technical glitch they cannot do that.
Shopclues is cyber version of Chor Bazaar - they know that sellers like Varun are true thieves using their website to suck up innocent buyers hard earned money and they fully support and endorse thieves like him. The commission percentage they earn from each seller from each sale is "protection money" for supporting their crimes.
Online shopping is based upon trust where buyer gives the money to seller based upon the listing pictures. Buyer relies upon platform owner(i.e. ShopClues customer service in this case) to ensure sellers ship the exact merchandise shown in listing. ShopClues has no such policies. Sellers ship whatever they can, when they can, if they want to ship at all. Buyers are not even allowed to post genuine, factual negative feedback. ShopClues and dishonest sellers both make merry with money they have defrauded from customers.
Very disappointed with my experience. Shopclues should use the tag line on their website " Welcome to virtual Chor Bazaar". I wonder for how long will they escape clutches of FBI internet crimes?
