Though there are many bogus websites selling cheap products and displaying them as branded ones, Shopclues.com is the king of them. Shopclues started as a network linking various suppliers to market, thus enabling itself as one of the earliest commission model shopping website. The design was similar to Ebay but a bit improvised to maintain quality control. However this is where shopclues.com failed miserably. The products were listed by merchants and shipped directly without any verification from shopclues and returns were not accepted from buyers. I initially purchased some products through jaw dropping deals on shopclues and found them to be good. But later on while purchasing on the website I got many cheap fakes, dubious quality items which I was never able to return. Then I stopped shopping from shopclues and simply hoped that it dies a slow death like other such shopping sites. I think there are a million such websites in India now. Given the kind of name and spam email shopclues.com sends every day, it has somehow survived. But I don’t think it will do so for long.
