It’s been the year of E-commerce websites. Lets make no bones about it. Atleast a couple spring up every week with no specific differentiation in products or range and not so spectacular service.
But not shopclues.com. This is a nice refreshing website that had a targeted audience with them through their viral campaign on Facebook for close to 2 odd months and then went live sometime in the last couple of weeks.
Signed up for an account with them through their FB campaign first in early December and received a Rs. 100 credit with no minimum purchase. In Christmas, they got out an interesting offer of 50% discount offer for their FB fans for a couple of days. Ordered a set of speakers with them then using the discount and the coupon.
Order Placement: - Shopclues is essentially an intermediary and hence the details of the seller also were mentioned on the site. The payment gateway asked for the card details twice which was the only strange part of the transaction. The order placement was smooth otherwise with no visible glitches.
Their "processing" is called "Milkrun Initiated" which happened 3 days after the transaction and the item was shipped the next day. Since it was Christmas time, din’t have a problem with the 3 days to initiate processing. Gave them the benefit of doubt.
The item was delivered to me in a big parcel by Maruti couriers after 6 working days from the date of order.(Many orders have been sent by Bluedart also. Apparently varies by location)
These were a flat set of Philips speakers and I was concerned about their handling. But the packing of Shopclues laid to rest all my fears. Apart from the box set given by Philips, Shopclues got a big cardboard almost 1.75 times the size of the product and stuffed the empty space with paper and thermocol thereby effectively ruling out any scratch or shakiness to the set. This was exemplary.
I have been mighty impressed by the marketing of this site and their effective targeting. The services too are good and leave you with an overall pleasant experience.
Certainly worth a shot!
