Terrible Experience. Substandard Bags.

PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM SHOPMISTRY IF YOU CARE AT ALL ABOUT YOUR MONEY, TIME AND SELF RESPECT.


After a waiting time of 14 days, I received my bag, only to find that the bright green bag I’d seen and ordered(Madison Tote in Jade) was delivered to me in GREY-ish green. The "premium" leather was average at best with average lining inside. The look did not look premium at all. Street bags look better. The most disappointing was the stark difference in colour. How can a bright green coloured bag turn towards a GREYish pallete? I reached out to their customer "Service" which does not take calls. A shocker in this day and age. When I outlined my concern asking why the stark difference in colour, they outright asked me to get it exchanged if I have a problem. When I asked for an explanation, they said it’s because it’s cut from different leather.


When I requested a return, saying there is no guarantee an exchange will get me the bag I ordered since they cannot take responsibility of the colour variance, they blamed me for not reading the policies properly and not checking their INSTAGRAM properly for how the bag might look against people! Ending the chat abruptly saying for further concerns write to an email. I did so, outlining how the person chatting on the other end had been quite rude. The email response did not address that part at all. It just said that I had two options, either I exchange the bag for another colour in the same type, or for another bag altogether. And that the colour difference was due to studio lighting. This time, leather wasn’t blamed.


I happen to work in the media field and know a thing or two about lighting. How can lighting completely alter the colour of a product? A shade variance is understandanble. That the very colour pallette has changed is unheard of. And yet, they refuse to call their customers and treat them politely.


The brand might be 6 grand richer, but they have lost not just one customer forever but everyone I can catch hold of, I shall warn them off this brand and share my horrendously disappointing experience and tell them what terrible service they provide and how their policies which EVERYONE must read are terribly skewed in their favour.


In the name of "vegan" "cruelty free" products, and using such new age trendy terms, you cannot cheat customers, provide them with average products and treat them unkindly. It’s a disservice to the small businesses who are doing genuine work and the customers who are being patrons to them.
