However rude it sounds , but the truth is Shoppers Stop has never been a humble and polite retail outlet "inspite of being in the service industry" .
And this is not city specific , it runs across the brand . Shows on the face and body language of the staff .Following is my 4th unfortunate (forced) experience with the store .
I have shifted from Mumbai (as bad in this case) to Delhi recently , say a month back . On Monday , 20thJuly09 , I realised tht I was running out of my basic cometics products . Since I had around Rs1000/ Shoppers Stop gift voucher , so I HAD to go their.
That very day I went to the Shoppers Stop at Ansal Plaza at around 8.15pm . As expected none of the staff greets u when u enter (as usual) or try to help you finding out in what you are looking for (expecting too much).
I went to the Maybelline counter (btw , none of the brand representatives were at their respective counter, as they were busy gossiping somewhere) .
When I specificaly asked for Maybelline then only a guy (no female staff for female specific personal care / cosmetic products) came up to ask - "Haan boliye" (without even an iorta of professional hospitality) . I asked for shades in a particular product range & wanted to try out the testers(obviously) before buying , but it seems tht Mr.Unprofesional did not like the idea and was visibly irritated . After a couple of seconds (when I could no longer tolerate him n his attitude) I hurriedly bought a liner & told him to make a bill for the purchase .
To my surprise he didnt even bother to hand over that peice of paper to me , and almost threw tht across the counter & didnt even wait a second after that . Not surprising .
Well , its not with Maybelline.....its with SHOPPERS STOP. May be its jinxed , or may be its not .But if continued lik this , the day will definitely come when Shoppers will actualy Stop goin there (true to its name).
I guess this was the last time there . (Going to ban my friends n relatives from sending me any Shoppers Stop gift vouchers) . Enough is Enough.
