Like every first time online shopper, who thinks about the safety, security, on time delivery and the same product delivery [Many a stories from people on what is shown has not been delivered]. Even I had the same thoughts when I visited Rediff Shopping. Before doing online shopping, I went to rediff shopping page and read all the review and feedback from the customers. To my astonishment there were mixed responses. Many has given positive and many has given negative feedback. Some, have take neutral position. And in Mouthshut there were quite a few reviews amounting to overall negative feedback on Rediff Shopping.
I wanted to buy a watch. So, I visited lot of online sites for offers, but comparitively Rediff is acceptable with other online shopping stores. So, I wanted to give it a try. Luckily it worked properly for me. Before placing the online order. I had given a call to their customer care centre to ask about few questions that I had in my mind. Even though Rediff ships products to every nook and corner using their courier service. Their Customer Call Center is based in Mumbai. So, for many people its going to cost much for making STD.
Atlast I settled down for a US brand watch model named Sprinto, but till date I couldnt find this model in Sprintos authentic website. As soon as I paid, it went for approval and it got approved at the end of the day. The next day I saw my order status as dispatched. But to my astonishment for the next two days I didnt received it. When I logged in on the third day. The dispatch date has been changed from 1st to 3rd of December. I dont know how this can happen. After two days I received the watch in good condition. The packing was good and there was a free coupon for Rs. 1000/-, which I can use with Cleartrip for Credit Card hotel booking through Clear trip. But, again as this coupon was free, I cannot comment on it. I am sure that this coupon will not be used by many of the rediff shoppers. Rediff can give gifts on some other model.
Now the tricky part on After sales service, I really dont have any clue, what if a product doesnt work. Its been told by the customer I have to send it to the Marketing Agency from where I have received this watch. But, who will bear the courier charges and what time line would it take for servicing/exchange. If somebody has got some experience on this kindly comment.
Overall a nice experience, never go in for the products that you dont have witness through your eyes. Luckily it worked for me. The strong inbuilt process has got me the watch, if at all due to some reasons, if my order has been out of process, then I think the customer care part would have made me an irate customer.
