Hi,
I have used rediff.com services around 5 times in the past, mostly to send gifts to India. Everytime, I have had some bad experience or other. Stupid me, I again choose their services, for the 6th and final time: Now to send a Sony DVD player ( marketed by Ojjas Enterprises) to a cousin of mine on the eve of her marriage. The item was purchased on 4th- December-05 and was supposed to be delivered by 11th.
The item is no where to be seen. My credit card got charged for $5 more than what I was billed during check-out. Even worse, none of my e-mails to rediff.com customer service gets response. I have been constantly sending them e-mails.
On Monday, I plan to call there US office and/or fax my complaint. Also, I will call up there Mumbai HQ and lodge simillar complaint. I am also planing to file a regular complaint with consumer redressal forum, Mumbai. Would be great to get rediff CEOs e-mail id so that I can shoot an angry e-mail.
Bottomline, please spread the word and prevent innocent buyers from being cheated by rediff. I am surprised however, a NYSE listed company is resorting such cheap and fradulent practices.
