Yet another victim of Rediff Shopping. But before starting my review let me admit that , I had a very good experience too with Rediff shopping , with the same impression further I made 3 more transactions in the Express Gifts section of site.
Trust me on this , Gift was so express that it has never reached till date. Please allow me explain my over all experience with Rediff shopping in detail. Day1 - 07-Oct-08I was expecting few occasions in my family(2 birthdays + 1 Diwali Gift). As I have mentioned above with my previous experience (the good one) and by seeing my busy schedule, I have booked 3 Express Gifts one fine morning.
Diwali - Mini dairy Milk Chocolates 325/- Order Number - 4922804
Roses Cadbury 425/- Order Number - 4922647
MIDNIGHT WISH 1099/- Order Number - 4922576
Immediately after booking all orders was approved , after booking I was almost sure that gifts would be delivered on date. And as last time when I was be getting some calls from rediff (from some Mumbai number) for the confirmation of time of delivery and address etc this time also I was expecting the same.
Day2 - 16-Oct-08 Here comes the first birthday which was of my mother, Till 15th no calls, all the day I was looking for some call from Rediff or from my mother for her surprise gift. But situation was more embarrassing when I got a surprise when I called her at evening and found that she has not received ANYTHING. Believe me I was looking for the delivery from Rediff even after the committed date but as I have mentioned above nothing so far.
Day3 – 18-Oct-08 Diwali gift which was suppose to be delivered within 4 – 5 days of the approval of the order as per the approval mail from rediff “The material will be delivered within 4 - 7 working days”. Please note that this gift was for my grandparents , nearly after 10days they got a call from some courier service to pick up the gift from their shop O/W.... that I don’t consider mentioning here because it’s a review for Rediff not for the courier service. Anyways I should be thankful to god that my grandparents have received the gift nearly after a long wait of 11 days from merchant.
Day4 – 24-Oct-08 My third gift which was expected to be delivered on the same date. But again it was a same situation as Day 2. Till 23rd no calls, at the evening when I called found that they have not received ANYTHING. Story begins after that, when I found NO number at Rediff site for contact ing in such cases , I have disputed the 2 undelivered transactions from my card issuer bank (CitiBank). Ideally rest all experience I should write in the review for the CitiBank.
But in brief after submitting the Customer declaration form twice , Writing N – Number of mails nothing so far. Temporary credit was reversed on 1st week of march without any prior information from bank or no reasons from merchant. This was my experience with the site which looks very good / attractive/ committed. but frustrating once customer places the order.
Friends I have worked on one of the ecommerce site for nearly 2 years, which is considered to be a one of the best eCommerce site in Asia. I have seen their commitment for customers, timed deliveries , Effective and supportive customer care and efficient in refunds.We can see lot of shopping sites growing day by day but still where is eCommerence in India ....Please think again!!
