I tried to order a gift item for my mother for mother’s day through Rediff Shopping. When I reached the checkout page that actually collects credit card information (credit card number and expiry date), I was shocked to find it to be a non-secure page. They DO NOT USE SSL encryption to protect customers’ sensitive financial information. SSL with strong 128 bit encryption is an industry standard worldwide today. I had a very bad experience with indiatimes shopping recently. After that I thought I may try another leading indian online shopping portal. But boy, I was wrong!!!
Sites like rediff shopping and indiatimes shopping claim to be the leading portals in india and yet they fail to provide basic level of customer support and online security measures.
I would advise every security conscious shopper to steer clear of rediff shopping. Or else be prepared to get ripped off, robbed of your hard earned money through frauds that happen online everyday.
