Never ever buy anything from Indiatimes, please!
I dont want anyone else to suffer the same fate as myself.

I had ordered a RAKHI hamper costing 550 / - advertised as containing Rakhis with Toberlone chohcolates(20gm)+ Axe deo+ Neck tie+ sliver coin+ chawal & roli on 8th August08.
It was advertised that maximum delivery time was 4 days with 7 days replacement guarantee. so, the offer seemed believable.
When the order was not even shipped(forget about being delivered), I suspected foul play and started calling the Indiatimes shopping Customer care. They kept on assuring me daily for 3 days that it will reach today n today n so on. The website clearly publicised so much about their assured delivery on or before 16th August for all orders placed before 12th August.
When it didnt reach till 16th August(RAKHI day) till 0600 PM, I called them again to cancel the order, as it was not worth now being delivered. I was again assured that it will surely reach by 0800 PM. In vain, I waited till 0800 PM, as I could not have done anything else. As expected it did not reach till this time too, I tried calling the Customer care guys again, but then realised that I was foxed again as, they close their Customer care service at 0800 PM. They I think did this intentionally so as to get rid of me.
So, now it was Saturday & Sunday. gone 2 more days.
The same was not delivered till 18th August08.
I called up again on Monday, and as if nothing happened the customer care person insisted on cancellation of order and I had to agree with him, as I did not have any other option. Now that, it was cancelled I thought my sufferings because of indiatimes is over. But, more was to come as now my shipment was delivered after cancellation.
This came as the worst possible news as what was delivered was 2 Rakhis with one perk & one dairy milk(Rs.5 each). This was deivered to my wifes brother.
Can you imagine how shameful it would have been for me, when I was informed that this is what has been delivered.
Its surely malafide intentions on part of Indiatimes & Advantage(the merchant), they thought who cares to cross-check about the Gifts. And that too 2 days after RAKHI.
They would have thought that they could save on the cancellation charges.
I am planning to go to the Consumer Court to take up the matter not just for cancellation, but more importantly for mental harrassment & embarrassment suffered because of them.
