You have been warned!!!

If you were to read my other review I wrote on eBay sometime back, you would have thought that I would never venture to buy anything online, let alone in an online auction...

But, think again, I did just that and got srw*d!

Somewhere within me must lurk a fool that pops-up at the sight of a bargain. Read on...

Well, this time too it was for a mobile phone. I bid one rupee more than the minimum (it was for a ’’Tell Your Price’’ auction) and forgot about it... the next day I got a mail saying that I had won it and that my CC was charged and I would get the item in 2-3 weeks. Good, I though, this was a bargain...

That was 10 days ago... Today I got the mobile. It was the WRONG model!!! It was a lower priced model of-course, I was srw*d!

I immediately mailed a complaint to IndiaTimes.

There, I got it off my chest... But I’ll keep you all posted on how this thing ends.

===============

Got a mail from IndiaTimes saying that the whole thing was because of some miscommunication! I only wish the miscommunication had resulted in me getting phone that was priced higher...

Got another mail from IndiaTimes, saying that their courier will collect the item, I have to inform before hand and let them know and give them the ’’Account Number’’

Their courier refused to take the item.... Rather, he offered to take the item but refused to give a receipt!

Still no end in sight to this problem. The wrong cellphone is still with me...

11-Oct-2005: The End

===============

Ok, so I finally got the phone today. Don’t want to go into all the messy

details about how I sent the wrong phone back and stuff like that.

IndiaTimes did everything that was normally expected of a large, greedy,

corporate pig to sort out a problem that was caused by them in the

first place.

===============

From my experience you can conclude:

1. IndiaTimes will go to any lengths to cheat its customers even on a 4000 Rupee item.

or,

2. IndiaTimes is totally incompetent and cannot even handle a simple order for a cellphone.

It’s for you decide...

My Advice: STAY AWAY FROM INDIATIMES AUCTIONS, unless you feel that your life is going too smooth and want a heavy dose of frustration.
