shopping.indiatimes is the reason I had to open an account on mouthshut. I placed my order for a mobile on 16th April 2014, the expected delivery date was 24th April 2014. Paid via debit card transaction. I was going through all the negative reviews so was a little worried already.
I have done online shopping with all the major sites and received my delivery within 6-7 days in each cases. I called them after 4, 5 days and they said not to worry I’ll get my delivery by 24th April. On 22nd I called them again when I didn’t receive anything and they repeated the same line, this time they said it is ready to be shipped and I’ll get it before 24.
But till 24th I received no shipping notification neither on mail nor on sms. I called them again and asked what’s taking so much time, this time someone said maybe the product was sold out, now it’s available but my order is not packed yet, I’ll receive it soon and get my notification as soon as it’s shipped. Even they created a case ID and said someone will revert back within 48 hrs.
The next day (today) morning someone did revert back just so say my complaint has been forwarded to concerned dept. I’ll be notified as soon as they answer back. God knows what’s going on there, I’m really worried this time, have never faced something like this not even from Naaptol, they delivered my product within 6 days.
Will change my opinion and update only if I get my product safely and in genuine working condition but right now I’m having a real doubt on their system and honesty.
UPDATE: April 26, 2.00 am - After the review being published on mouthshut.com the status of my order goes "READY TO DISPATCH" from "In Process" along with the courier no which has no record yet. Lets see what happens.
UPDATE: April 26 8.12 pm: The status shows "Shipped", the courier no shows "Received at Origin Facility". I also got email and sms notification but no expected delivery date.
Update: Just thought I should let everyone know that I had received my product in excellent condition and packaging and it’s working very well.
Final Verdict -
I wouldn’t call shopping.indiatimes a fraud website. But I guess they book orders more than they can manage and they do not have a properly organized team. Their customer care executives make it worse trying to hide the actual status and pretending everything is ok.
I think they should be a little more organized and honest. If you are not in a hurry about the delivery you can place your order here, they give very good deals and discounts. But if you want your product withing 3-4 days forget about placing an order. That would be my suggestion.
