Fooled by the deep discounts on their website(midnight deal entitled to get 10% flat discount), I bought an apple IPad 4 worth 28K from their site on 7th March, 2013(order # 3002084193). Though the lead time to deliver for most online retailers were 3-4 days for the same product, theirs was 5-7 days and when my order got confirmed, I got an email stating that the expected delivery date is 21st March, 2013, i.e, 14 days!! But my hands were tied as I have already made the payment so I decided to wait patiently.
On 14th March 2013 they sent me another email stating that my product has been shipped by Bluedart courier and I would receive it by 17th March, 2013! But when even till 16th March, the tracking id provided by them showed no results on Bluedart site, I contacted the indiatimes customer care and they logged a case. On 17th I got another mail stating that "my product is shipped but it is not tracable"!!! Today I got called from them and told the same thing that they can not trace my product and will "try" to deliver it as fast as they can.
This is simply unacceptable from a reputed name like the times of India group. I can not wait for lifetime for the product to be delivered. And I am simply utterly confused as to how can they not be able to track the shipment, the AWB number that they provided could be wrong but if they indeed have shipped the product, they must be able track it! My hunch is, they might not have shipped it at all and simply buying time by saying that it is already shipped. Not sure what the resolution would be, but this is indeed a harassment to customers.
Indiatimes guys, I am still okay if you can deliver it within the initial stipulated delivery deadline(21st March, 2013). But if you can, you need to cancel the order and refund the payment.
