A couple of years back I was a happy customer of Indiatimes Shopping/Store. I had ordered quite a few products from their site mainly books, CDs etc. I had made high-valued purchases without worrying whether the order would be fulfilled faithfully. And usually I used to receive the order within 4 days. But lately, the service of Indiatimes has become so disgusting that I just had to write this review. Just 20 days ago I had ordered a book (How Opal Mehta....). I chose to pay through Netbanking. They happily debited the amount from my account. Now I’m waiting and waiting, and I don’t get any reply from them for over a week. So I emailed them through their feedback site (which says you’ll receive a reply in 48 hours!!) asking for the order status. It was at that point of time they reveal that the book was out of stock. Now I would like to know what kind of inventory system such a big site is using. If you don’t have the book in stock, why the hell do you keep on taking orders? Why aren’t you bold enough to admit that you haven’t got any in your stock? Indiatimes readily snatches the money from the account. But it provides no feedback about the order status. Even when I asked them about the refund of the money, they say it will take about a month to be credited back. WTF? These people run a e-commerce site and they take 5 days to ship the product (God knows how much more the courier company takes?), one month to refund the amount (that too after the customer bugs them for the same). I shudder to think what would happen if I try to pre-order the products they advertise on their home page so blatantly.
I’m really disappointed by the quality of the service which has gone down and is still going down. There was a time where I click it and I forget it, receive it. Now I have to click it, remind it, remind it, get frustrated, remind it and if I’m lucky, receive it.
