SHOULD PUBS CLOSE DOWN AT 11PM

Everyone have their own views on this vexing question of

whether pubs should close down at 11 pm. Here are the

views of the concerned people.

  1. The customer, the regular tippler

I belong to this category and after a hard day’s work,

after being stressed out, need a few tipples to perk me up.

After returning home from work at about 8pm I have a bath

and change and reach my regular pub by about 9-30pm and

order my regular tipple and some snacks. Before I know it,

its 11pm and the pub is ready to close. I feel disappointed

and leave unsatisfied. Wish pubs were open till 1am.

  1. The police

Crime has been on the rise and there have been a lot of

accidents at night mainly due to drunken driving. The police

want to ensure that all pubs close at 11pm and earlier if

possible. Some of the policemen try to line their pockets

by allowing pub owners to keep the pub open after hours but

this is not so in most cases.

  1. The pub owner

The pub owner loses his revenue by closing his pub by 11pm.

He wants laws to be enacted to allow him to keep his pub

open all night.
