I had the pleasure of travelling to Coimbatore recently.. Lovely city... growing quite fast and has a buzz about it.. This was my third visit to this city and I decided to stay at a family lodging which is in-expensive.. I was guided to Annapurna Lodging which is at RS Puram and I booked a non-AC double room. I was with family (wife and two kids).
The first thing that struck me about Annapurna is its ambience.. Very friendly and familiar.. The rooms were good - quite spacious and comfortable.. The TV works and most of the popular channels are available.. The only problem is that the TV is kept on a high level and one feels the strain in the neck after some time...
Each room has a balcony attached from where one can view the happenings in the busy streets below.. The balconies are not protected with grills and therefore one has to be careful...
The bath rooms were clean and decently stocked with toileteries.. The towels provided were clean and fresh (although not of the highest quality fabric).. Hot water available 2 hours.. The drainage was slow in the bathroom..
Service was very good and the people extremely friendly.. They have two resturants within the building and these are very popular as the food is good and reasonably priced.. The building hosts 1-2 wedding halls and is usually packed with functions through all auspicious days..
They have decent laundry service and quick room service too.. They even have a good travel service where the pricing is good. The hotel also provides free parking for guests cars..
The hotel is located in a busy residential cum commercial area and there are a lot of conveniences nearby.. A good Ganapathy temple stands nearby for the religiously inclined..
The room rates are also very reasonable and credit card payments are accepted.. Overall the hotel provides good value for money.. I will definetely come back to the same place whenever I visit this city again.
