Introduction
Shrek 2 is the sequel to Shrek the animated movie in which hollywood’s best have lend their voices. I happened to chance happen Shrek 2 in 4D while a short trip to US. Yes you heard it right 4D.
So what the hell is 4D. Well the 4th dimension here is the ’’feel’’ . Particularly in this movie the 4th D is the feeling of fallin gon the ground, feeling of spit on your neck and feeling of spiders crawling up your legs. And believe me I was at the receiving end of it when I watched it.
The Movie
What I saw was just a 15 min prelude to Shrek 2. The king is back to take revenge this time as a ghost!!. Shrek has had hardly any time before he has to encounter the fearsome king all over. The donkey friend is back at his funniest best. More than any storylin eor comedy what is mesmerizing are the special effects. The theater I was in had rocking chairs, ceiling that sprinkled water and air jets behind thew nexk and in the floors. So imagine shrek is on a horse back and he falls and it feels as if you have fell to the ground, imagine the donkey spitting and it falls on your face!!!
The 4th dimension is simply superb. You are in a jungle and suddenly spiders start crawling up your legs. The feeling was so realsitic that many people in the halls gave small shouts and some actually stood up to check!!! Of course you have to wear special spectacles to watch special effects.
For Indians
I don’t know when such halls will be india but whenver they are equipped , Shrek 2 will be real fun. When I watched the movie the queues were so huge that I had to wait 2 hours for a 15 minutes experience. It is a sure hit in US and I am sur ekids in india are going to like it even more. Off course the trump card this time is the 4th D
