Please never go to Shubh Jewellers- Marathalli (Pranathi Shines) with your old gold for exchange or buy back option, you will definitely end up in getting at-least 14% - 15% lesser than market rates or other shops in the market.
I had a very worst experience at Shubh jewellery (Pranathi Shines) recently when I went for purchasing gold ornament on 9th Feb 2014 & also they don’t have any commitment on delivery dates, I had visited 4times to get my ordered jewelry. The shop owners behavior was polite at 1st time but was very horrible & too cheap when I went with quires later they relay don’t have any ethics once business is done.
We went to Shubh Jewellers, Marathalli, to purchase new gold by exchanging with some old gold jewelry what we had already. We selected & ordered a chain & a pendent from their catalog as we wanted particular design.
We had given our old gold (31.69 grms) as we wanted to exchange with the new ornament, they checked the purity & said they will take it with the 22 k gold rate of that day which was approx Rs. 2820 & will charge 5% melting charges on that which no other reputed shops in the market will change & also said they will pay less for the less purity ornament. However we agreed for the same as we were particular about the selected design.
But while calculating the rates they have reduced 9% & extra 5% as melting charges, finally I ended up in getting rates only for 86% of the gold weight even for 916 (22K) gold (but they should have calculated for 95% of weight as they had committed for 22k gold rate). The amount was adjusted as advance to the new jewelry order & asked us to come 4 days later for collecting our new jewelry. Unfortunately I trusted them, didn’t cross verify the calculations & went home with the receipt.
After 4 days, when I went for collecting the order, I some how verified the calculation & asked for clarification on the sum & they were not ready to clarify & said it was done on the 9th Feb. You should have asked on that day itself, Now we can’t do anything & everything was closed on that day. On the other hand, the new jewelry was also not ready after 4 days as they committed.
They had asked me to come after 2 days to collect my order, I went after 2 days again & asked clarification with the shop owners on the old ornament loss & all shop owner father, 2 sons all were shouting on me & their behavior was pathetic also they made us to wait for hours & said jewelry has gone for BIS marking you have to come 1 day later.
Finally I could get my ornament on my 4th visit with loss of 14% of my old gold rate. So please friends don’t ever go with old jewelry to this shop & also don’t trust these shop people & their calculation.
Last advice to Shubh Jewellers:
As a franchise, please verify this kind of dealer before giving your name to them & also verify periodically on how the business is conducted by them with customer & please don’t cheat the customers.
