Today I am so PROUD to recommend this movie (In my Mother Tongue) to all of you.
After 50 Years Marathi Movie got NATIONAL AWARD and Now Nominated for OSCAR.
Lots Of People have different View on Regional Talents, I also have one, you can
Understand that particular view ONLY if you are a Regional Language person.
This is NOT just ONE film or an Isolated Incident in Marathi Film Industry or a
FLUKE in any case. But this one Stands Out, since it is today representing INDIA in OSCARS.
But do you see any MEDIA HYPE as we saw in LAGAAN ?? Is anybody asking WHY ??
(BTW Lagaan was also Directed by a Maharashtrian (Played a negative character in
below recommended movie VAZIR) Ashutosh Gowarikar.
Issue is not about Religion/Race/Caste, Issue is about Respect for
each Others Language
Why a MARATHI Guy when Directs Hindi LAGAAN gets all the ATTENTION,
Why a MARATHI GUY when Directs Marathi SHWAAS gets NO ATTENTION at all :(
Both movies are Nominated India’s entry for OSCAR.
This actor who has done such FANTASTIC job in Marathi Films/Theatre that ONLY
Maharashtrians are Lucky enough to watch his True Performances WHY ??
These Regional Actors/Actressess are shown/Given ONLY regional
Characters to Play in Hindi Film Industry WHY ??
A PARSI is shown with an OLD CAR with a FAT Wife always , WHY ??
I Know lots of Parsis who are much better than any HINDI/Punjabi,
much better than any Malhotra/Khanna/Saxena/Singhania look at
BOMAN IRANI he is Parsi..
Look At (Marathi) SHIVAJI SATAM is given a GREAT Character to play in
VAASTAV but he had to wait till a Maharashtrian directed that Movie
MAHASH MANJREKAR. WHY NOBODY ELSE gave him that role ??
This Actor Arun Nalawade who has done such wonderful Job in this
OSCAR Nominated Movie
You will find him Standing in a Corner in Hindi Film Industry sometimes
Playing a NAUKAR (like Late.Laxmikant Berde) Or HAWALDAR or One of
Many CHAWL persons WHY ??
Lotssss of Such Questions come and go in Mind.
Even I had Lost Hope in this already Bankrupt Marathi Film Industry.
But then comes somebody as talented and Committed as
SANDEEP SAWANT (who had to Borrow Money From Friends) to
give us some Glimpse of Hope for regional Talent.
If, Interested watch some of these Marathi Movies
1) VAZIR (you will be shocked to see ASHOK SARAF)
2) KALAT NAKALAT (watch out both Ashok Saraf and Vikram Gokhale)
!! HATS OFF TO YOU Mr. SANDEEP SAWANT !!
You are the one who set example to swim in Opposite direction &
showing that regional Talents cannot be suppressed , but yes
Money is Required :( may be again Mumbai and other Cities
Of Maharashtra will start getting Theatres to release
Marathi Movies coz MONEY DEFINITELY MATTERS
NOT JUST TALENT.
