Came across this book in my school days when there was a sale of good books put up in the assembly hall.absolutely wonderful is what I can say about this book. a peek at how a great personality is made. a book about simple things which spice
your thinking in a relishing manner. its about growing up and imbibing the values taught by elders.
a book which somehow teaches you to stand by them come what may.
a book which makes u smile through tears. compilation of growing up of sane guruji narrated in the form of short stories each ending with a message.
good to turnback and smile upon simple things in life.
i fell in love with this book because of the simple language and its ability to keep me hooked in my 6th standard. the ability to keep reading and savouring it..sometimes with smiles..sometimes with tears in my eyes. made me look at shyam gurujis mother as a teacher.. a woman of strength to the core.
this book makes one realise worth of his own parents, all the times when they have stood by you, said a firm no, explained why a no was said, given an advice.
helps u look back at your childhood and smile at the times you have been angry because you were denied a new tripple decker pencil box!
about times when parents told not to eat alone when sitting with friends, about not being loudly vocal in a hurting way just because you dont agree to some things or dont like certain things. about keeping mum in certain situations and needing to be vocal in others.
these things and much more.
truly making u realise..matru devo bhava pitru devo bhava
