Small and smart

Advantages:

Disadvantages:

Keen to try out WAP to see what all the fuss was about, I picked up this phone free when subscribing to Genie, who offer free WAP and SMS. Initial impression were OK. I didn’t think it was a particularly stunning handset, but it’s grown on me.

Despite my girlfriend’s reassurance, size is important, and this phone is a good size. Not quite the smallest out there, but small enough to be discreet in a pocket. For me, features are highest on my list for a phone, and the C35 has almost all I need - vibrate, WAP, and T9 predicative text for SMS (a faster way of typing that, one mastered, is great).

Gripes are that the SIM card doesn’t hold as many text messages as it does in my old Ericsson - it claims to be full after 8 messages, when the same SIM in a different phone holds 16 - anyone know why this is? Also, although it’s got a lot of ring tones, most of them are horrible - presumably Nokia’s nabbed all of the best ones! Sadly for me. it lacks an infrared port, which I find really useful for use with my Psion Revo for typing in text messages and looking after my address book.

All in all, a good phone, strong signal and with some other toys such as stopwatch, currency converter, calculator and some games.
